What Is Muscular Dystrophy?
Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disorder that weakens the muscles that help the body move. People with MD have incorrect or missing information in their genes, which prevents them from making the proteins (dystrophin) they need for healthy muscles.
MD weakens muscles over time, so children, teens, and adults who have the disease can gradually lose the ability to do the things most people take for granted. Someone with MD might start having muscle problems as a baby or their symptoms might start later.
Currently there is no cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Scientist and medical doctors have made great strides in understanding this disease through research and clinical testing funded by charitable donations.

OBJECTIVE
We want to raise as much money as we can to donate for research of this disease, as well as funding of special programs for kids. All proceeds will be donated to MDA. The MDA is the world's largest non-governmental sponsor of research seeking the causes of and effective treatments for neuromuscular diseases, sponsoring some 400 research projects annually.
This should be alot of fun and at the same time helps some kids out. I plan on organizing an eclectic lineup of local artists I think everyone will enjoy.
Please check back frequently for details.
Thank you,
Brian Van Skiver |
